Colombia plane crash: 76 dead after crash involving Brazilian football team, police chief says | The Independent

Police in Colombia say 76 of the 81 people on board a plane which crashed outside the city of Medellin have died. Speaking to a local radio station Caracol, Medellin police chief José Acevedo said six people had been pulled alive from the wreckage, but that one had died in hospital. The other 75 are believed to have died at the crash site. The rescue effort was suspended at around 3am local time due to heavy rain, at which point 25 bodies had been recovered.

It is so sad hearing tragic stories like the place that crashed in Colombia. It is even harder when you come to know those who died. The Brazilian football team, you find out the team was having a fairy tale year. We find bits of information from the different news stories of those who died, and it makes it almost personal. We feel for the family and loved ones, but we can never imagine the pain those family and loved ones are going through. This holiday season lets hold them in our heart and say a little pray today.
